Ma Ai Thanda Han, MD, FACP

Dr. Han graduated from University of Medicine I, Yangon, Myanmar with an honor in Internal Medicine. After graduation, she completed an Internal Medicine residency training at Cardinal Tien Hospital, Yung Ho Branch in Taiwan.

In the U.S, she graduated from Internal Medicine residency program at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital affiliated Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. Then she received training in Clinical Hepatology and Research at National Institute of Health/ National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney (NIH/NIDDK), Liver Diseases branch in Bethesda, Maryland, and Gastroenterology Fellowship training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Finally, she graduated from Transplant Hepatology fellowship program in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

She was awarded as a Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP). She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. She has presented her research at national and international conferences. Her research interests include non-alcoholic fatty liver and outcomes research in pre and post liver transplantation. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and transplant hepatology. She is a member of various medical associations such as the American Association of the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American Society of Transplant (AST), International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) and American College of Physicians (ACP).

She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Her primary focus is to care for patients who need liver transplantation as well as patients with various liver diseases, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. She also performs endoscopy procedures.
